Everything you’ll ever need to know is within you; the secrets of the universe are imprinted on the cells of your body”.

To know the secret of the universe we have to start with our own body, what if I told you our body is a big powerhouse of energy if only we knew how to harness it, we can become the best version of ourselves. This vast spiritual energy is focused in our body as chakras; chakras are essentially the centres of the cosmic energy flowing around us.

What are Chakras?

I assume the word chakra is not new to you as nowadays whenever the topic of overall wellbeing comes the chakras are discussed extensively, but the question is do you know what really this “Chakra” word signifies?

Chakra is a Sanskrit word which means wheel, chakras are the spinning discs of energy which affect various aspects of our life, to make it simple let us consider a bicycle, the bicycle has wheels which ensure movement and balance of the bicycle in the same way seven chakras of the body help us in making balance and moving forward in life.

Many people believe there are 114 chakras in our body corresponding to different bundles of nerves and organs of the body. However, there are 7 chakras which have gained prominence over time. These seven chakras of the body are aligned along our spine and are responsible for the entire cosmic prana (energy) dwelling inside us.

Origin of Chakra Philosophy

Around 1500 to 1000 BC, when India was at the peak of intellect and spirituality when the Veda and Puranas were being written, the philosophy of chakra came into being.  Thanks to the spread of yoga and awareness in the spiritual field, modern-day philosophies are incorporating the chakra philosophy once again, and that’s the reason we are going back to the knowledge our ancestors possessed.

If you are a beginner then you are at the right place as in this article we will be discussing all the seven Chakras of the body one by one along with their significance.

Blocked, Underactive and Overactive Chakra

You might have heard people talking about blocked chakras, in chakra philosophy it is believed that most of your problems are associated with, overactive, underactive or blocked chakra, the problems one experiences due to chakra imbalance are related to that particular region of the chakra controls.
